Dobrý den/Dzień dobry (words for Czech and Polish greetings), 2015
In a place where the past historical events are linked to frontier lines and forced movements of population, geographical and physical barriers (mountains, forest, crossroads…) might currently play a secondary role in relation to the non-visible ones.
Within a few kilometres of distance between neighbour villages, the passer-by perceives the presence of certain emotional borders, perhaps connected with tradition and national identity, in a subtle but persistent way.
The images belong to a series taken during a brief stay at the border region of Lower Silesia, along both sides of the Polish and Czech border, during Aroundless arts residency at Zdonov (CR).
